Mark Wilson Design and Build undertook a major extension of our existing property. Mark was very professional from the outset and I certainly appreciated the fact that he listened to what we wanted and was happy to work with the concepts my wife and I had in mind. To prospective clients of Mark Wilson Design & Build. When we embarked on our recent renovation project we selected Mark Wilson from his ad in the local paper, knowing he had done a number of renovations in our area.
It had been over 10 years since we had any major building renovations done to our home, and Mark was interested and helpful in assisting us through the entire process.

During the renovation project, we found Mark, Rebecca and their sub-contractors efficient and professional, while still being personable and easy to get on with. Importantly, Mark himself was easy to contact and communicate with and always concerned about any issues we raised. Effective two-way communication is the key to any good working relationship.

We always knew when (and more importantly, when not) the builders would be on-site and what was going to happen next. Further, the sub-contractors behaved both politely and respectfully when working on-site.
While the overall project took longer than planned, their quality of workmanship was generally good, with little rework required. When minor problems arose, as they always will, they were quickly assessed and promptly and satisfactorily resolved. I have purchased a few properties, however, this was the first time I was looking for a property where I could build a granny flat and the first time I've had to build one. This is where I started looking for builders.

Mark Wilson Design and Build was recommended to me from my accountant, who has heard great things about them from his own clients. I have to say he wasn't wrong. Even before purchasing the property and putting offers through, Sean was incredibly helpful to assist me in ensuring the property and its size was suitable for a granny flat to be compliant. He was full of knowledge of the area and the building laws.

Once we secured the land, I was ready to start the build. However, having heard many bad experiences from others in relation to builders, I had difficulties in trusting. I had thousands of questions and long emails back and forth with Sean prior to committing. At all times Sean's responsiveness, patience and commitment to ensure I understood and was happy with the process was outstanding. I am so happy I did, because not only was the process incredibly smooth, but the result was a high quality granny flat and overall project, built at the exact agreed price and timeline.

Having organised this project from interstate and not been able to go to the site only until the end of the project, was not an issue. I find it is very easy to deal with Mark Wilson. I have very high expectations to the granny flat and they work hard to achieve that. For anything I don’t understand, they are always willing to help.

Nothing is perfect, but I do feel they are honest, professional and able to deliver what they have promised. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to start a construction project.

The Granny Flat was constructed in a timely fashion and met the deadlines expected. The construction work was carried out professionally and the finished product was aesthetically attractive and very functional. It was more like a small house. The treated timber frames, A-Shaped roof and large north-facing deck added to the interior appeal of modern open-plan living. In addition, the driveway and landscaping looked great and gave the property its own grand entrance and stylish yard.

The property was looked at seriously by 5 people within 2 days of completion and was rented to a happy tenant within a couple of days thereafter for [redacted]. In 3 months the rent will be raised to [redacted] per week because I had an AC added because of the summer heat. This is a good return on a development that cost me less than [redacted] to construct for build and all exterior completions.About the build (from Sean). Paul is an investor from interstate and required a granny flat at his property in Slacks Creek. We had some tricky interactions with the council to bring in a totally separate meter.

The entire process was very straight forward and working with Paul was a pleasure. At the end of the day, a high yielding granny flat is a perfect investment and addition to this property.
